The gentleman on the other end of the phone informed me that they received an "anonymous tip" from someone concerning my legal issues here in Lower Alabama. He was a very pleasant man and asked me to forward to him the op-ed piece I wrote for the Mobile Press Register. I am not in danger of losing my license! That's the first thing I wanted to tell you, so don't worry about me! I can still work as a licensed nurse. So "nanny-nanny-boo-boo" to the cowardly tipster! What really got my juices flowing was the "anonymous" part of the whole thing. It was an anonymous tip that led officers to our home in the first place (most likely from my narcissistic ex-step-father), and now it's an anonymous tip that has led an investigation by the board of nursing to me. Why anonymous? Why can't the person just stand up for what he or she believes in the way I'm doing? Even if the opinion is against what I, and many other informed people like me, believe, the other side still deserves a chance to be heard. That's the beauty of living in America. We're supposed to have freedom of speech, without fear of recrimination. I would actually welcome an intellectual debate with the anonymous tipster. My facts are all in order. My research has been done. In fact, the research I am continuing to do only confirms what I've already published. So bring it on! I will answer any and all questions with professionally researched material that is available to everyone. Go ahead, fire those questions and opinions at me! I'm not afraid of a little debate. There are only two rules: 1. No personal attacks 2. Cite your sources so that others can verify them (If you quote statistics, show all of us where they came from so we can all be more informed) That's what it's all about. Education. So, stop keeping your information to yourself. Put it out here in the light of day so we can all see what's really there. Peace, Brenda |
