I know what you are thinking. She couldn't possibly have said "meat bra", could she? Yes, I did. Bruce and I had a court date this morning at 9am. We just got back late Tuesday night from a 12-day camping trip across the Ozark Mountains. If you've never been camping, you wouldn't believe the amount of stuff to unload, clean, put away, etc, etc that goes along with it. Not to mention that our garden was pretty much unattended for those same 12 days. So, all day Wednesday, I was running around the farm like a chicken without a head trying desperately to play catch-up, all the while washing everything that went with us, emptying out the camper....that reminds me, I haven't unloaded the car yet....but let's not get distracted here. I know you can't wait to hear about the meat bra. Some of the campsites we visited had no running water. That means no showers, folks. So, I started carrying my bag in the car so that if I found a nice restroom somewhere, I could clean up a little. Don't gross out! Who cares how clean your feet are when you're camping anyway? Certainly not this girl. So, my bag is right behind my seat, along with the cooler and whatever else we might happen to want to get to while driving. Unfortunately, that also included our trash from the night before...which I forgot to put in the dumpster when we left our campsite. Oops! Guess what we had for dinner the night before? Venison burgers. The white paper from the meat was in that trash bag sitting on top of my overnight bag for several hours. It started leaking a little and dripped bloody meat juice on BOTH my bras! (I have more than two, but these two are my favorite!) At no time on Wednesday did I ever consider washing my hand-washables. It just didn't seem to be a priority when there were a million and three other much more pressing things to do. So, today, Thursday May 24th at 9am, I walked into a court of law wearing a bra that smelled like meat. It's a good thing there weren't any K-9's around. Oh, and just in case you were wondering, here's what happened today in court. |
