PETITION TO LEAVE THE STATE DUE TO FAMILY EMERGENCY

 COMES NOW the Petitioners, Rev. William Bruce Shoop and Rev. Brenda Sue Shoop a.k.a. Brenda Sue Williams, respectfully request an order of the court to grant our petition to leave the state due to family emergency in light of the following;

We have been entrusted with the care of an ailing elderly family member, Mr. Walter Harrison, while his primary caretaker is out of town from October 23, 2007 until November 10, 2007. Mr. Harrison resides at 3525 SE 29th Court Ocala, Florida 34471,

·

·        Mr. Harrison is currently recovering from major abdominal surgery and still requires blood transfusions every two weeks. Mr. Harrison is very weak and uses a walker to move himself from his bed to the bathroom. He requires constant contact with caregivers who can render assistance as necessary. Brenda Shoop is a registered nurse who can provide such care,

·        We are receiving desperately needed financial compensation for Mr. Harrison’s temporary care. We also must recover our primary vehicle, as we left it at the Harrison’s home, so that we could use Bruce’s mother’s car, which is significantly more fuel-efficient,

·        We were not aware of the requirements regarding requesting leave from bond to travel outside Alabama. Our previous attorneys assured us that we were free to travel so long as we appeared in court when so ordered,

·        The nature of our court ordered appearance on October 29, 2007 was for us to answer as to counsel. Because of the serious nature of Mr. Harrison’s illness, we chose to have our Bishop attend the court hearing in our stead, and answer the court with motions that we signed, notarized, and mailed to him,

·        We also expected our Bishop to argue the Motion for Continuance that we filed, but he failed to do so. As such, we were ordered to appear within 48 hours or risk the forfeiture of our bonds. This would adversely affect Brenda’s mother’s home and land as the property was used for bond. We truly never intended for any contempt of court.

We respectively ask the court to grant our petition to leave the state so that we may return to our caretaker duties for our ill family member and retrieve our primary vehicle from Florida.

 This PETITION was signed by both parties on this the 1st day of November in the Year of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Anointed Two Thousand and Seven and requested in good faith.
