Here's your word of the day:Spurious [spyoo Now you may wonder why you need to be familiar with this word. This word is used extensively in a new book being reviewed at The Green Earth Ministries The book is called How To Live Quietly by Annie Payson Call. She is also the Author of Power Through Repose, The Freedom of Life, Nerves and Common Sense, etc. There are many truths in this book regarding how to have real, genuine peace in your life (not the spurious kind). Here at The Green Earth Ministries, we strive to achieve a balance of love, harmony, health, and happiness. Peace has always been thought to naturally follow these achievements with little thought to how to achieve peace as a goal in itself. This book focuses on achieving peace as its own reward, with chapters on:
With this in mind, we proudly present excerpts from Call's book How To Live Quietly: What is Peace? PEACE is the health of the spirit. People, if they are uncomfortable in their bodies, are very glad to find the cause and to do their part to fulfil the conditions of health until their bodies are comfortable again. Not only that, but when the cause of the discomfort is really in their spirits, they will insist that the trouble is with their bodies and go to the doctor and do this and that and the other for the health of their bodies, and then wonder why they do not get well. It is my purpose and my hope in this book to point out, in so far as I am able, the road to real peace, with here and there a guide-post marked " Spurious " that will be only a healthy warning to prevent unnecessary digression. I do not pretend to have found uninterrupted real peace myself. If I thought I had, that would, I am sure, prove that I had nothing to teach any one. But I do believe I have found the road to it, and that I am working my way, with many others, towards the Peace that lasts.
