Bleach will kill you too if you drink it.

Luckily, your parents taught you that.

Let's let adults take responsibility for their own well being, why don't we?

Yes, some will choose badly. Yes, their families will be hurt. Bottom line is, a junkie is gonna' be a junkie no matter whether the drug is legal or not. Prohibition just enriches the street thug and corrupts the otherwise good cop.

Also, it causes some youth who have been told things like "Marijuana is dangerous" to question all things they have been told about drugs when they find out that Marijuana is harmless.

And THAT'S dangerous.

The old argument that Marijuana is a gateway drug is bunk. Alcohol is a gateway drug. Cigarettes are a gateway drug. Fact of the matter is, if you try marijuana it's because you're curious. If you're curious then you are more likely to experiment with other drugs as well. Curiosity is a gateway drug.

When Marijuana is legalized, our tax burden to house and feed 700,000 people a year would decrease and they could go back to their peaceful lives. The cops could focus on real crime and not be hated so much. Also, tax revenue would expand and communities would grow and prosper from it.
